Your Role

Are you good with engines? Do you like aviation? You might even be an aircraft technician? We are looking for an engine-savvy systems engineer for Regional Aircraft - Saab340 and Saab2000 - within Basic Aircraft Systems, SMRA.

You will become part of the Special Mission & Regional Aircraft (SMRA) department within BU Aviation Services. The Basic Aircraft Systems/Vehicle Systems section is responsible for the development of basic aircraft systems within Special Mission and Regional Aircraft, including air, electrical, engine, and fuel systems. Responsibilities include specification, design, integration, and verification of functions and devices, including airworthiness.

As a systems engineer within RA (Regional Aircraft), you will work with technical support for our customers' operational activities, as well as follow-up and technical investigations regarding Saab340 and Saab2000. You will have interfaces with many different departments and technical areas within Saab, as well as with external suppliers and customers.

The tasks rarely have a given solution, and you are expected to actively seek the knowledge and contacts within and outside Saab that you need to solve your tasks. You will work independently but will also have colleagues who support you and teach you our working methods and systems. You should be a good communicator and diplomat.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is meticulous and curious. You may have a background as an aircraft technician or have worked with engines for other vehicles and are now ready to move away from hands-on work to a more administrative role where your technical background will be very useful.

In this position, all written communication is in English, which means you must have very good language skills in English, both spoken and written. Since parts of our regulations are in Swedish, good knowledge of the Swedish language is also a requirement for the position.

The following skills, attributes, and competencies are desirable for the position:

At least 5 years of work experience, preferably as an aircraft technician
Experience working at Saab
Interest in engines and aviation

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in certain cases, involve requirements for specific citizenship.
